National Policy on Biofuels (Dec 2009)

Source:
Ministry of New & Renewable Energy

The Policy aims at mainstreaming of biofuels and, therefore, envisions a central role for it in the energy and transportation sectors of the country in coming decades. The Policy will bring about accelerated development and promotion of the cultivation, production and use of biofuels to increasingly substitute petrol and diesel for transport and be used in stationary and other applications, while contributing to energy security, climate change mitigation, apart from creating new employment opportunities and leading to environmentally sustainable development.

Global Framework for Climate Risk Disclosure A statement of investor expectations for comprehensive corporate disclosure (Jun 2006)

Source:
UNEP Financial Initiative

A group of leading institutional investors from around the world released the Global Framework for Climate Risk Disclosure—a new statement on disclosure that investors expect from companies—in October 2006. Investors require this information in order to analyze a company’s business risks and opportunities resulting from climate change, as well as the company’s efforts to address those risks and opportunities. The Framework encourages standardized climate risk disclosure to make it easy for companies to provide and for investors to analyze and
compare companies.

CO2 Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Cement Industry

Source:
WBCSD

In the 2002 Agenda for Action, CSI members pledged to work with stakeholders to develop a protocol for measuring and reporting CO2 emissions from cement manufacturing.

This was accomplished in 2003 when the CSI produced a CO2 accounting and reporting protocol (in line with the greenhouse gas protocol developed by the WBCSD and WRI in 2001). This was updated in 2005, following useful feedback from stakeholders.
