Dr Ashish Rana works in a leading private sector company. He has been a Lead Author in Working Group III of the IPCC.

He is an industry expert on:

  • Modelling major value chain segments in primary energy (coal / oil / gas / hydro / nuclear), transformation (electricity / refining), and end-use sectors (transport / industrial / residential) in the backdrop of macroeconomic factors and demographics
  • Evaluating technology gamut in emerging Clean technology / Alternative Energy sector
  • Solar / Wind / Biofuels / Alternative Transport / Nuclear / Carbon Capture & Storage
  • Strategic & Profitability analyses of global refineries, tracking global Oil & Gas markets
  • Writing on topical issues

 

He also has the following honors:
  • Certificate from the Prime Minister of India recognizing contribution to United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - co-recipient of Nobel Prize for Peace 2007
  • Best Paper Prize (2nd Runner-up) at the 20th World Energy Congress organized by World Energy Council, held at Rome, Italy, November 2007.
