GENERAL INFORMATIONThe IFC-Netherlands Carbon (CDM) Facility is an arrangement under which IFC will purchase greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions for the benefit of the Government of the Netherlands using the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. The Netherlands will use these emission reductions to help meet its commitments under the Kyoto Protocol and has allocated ?44 million for this Facilitiy that will provide additional revenues to eligible projects that generate emission reductions in developing countries. The Facility purchases emissions reductions under long term contracts through 2012, with a minimum contract quantity of 1 million emission reductions over the term of the contract. Eligible projects include those based on renewable energy, energy efficiency, methane capture, fuel switching, reduction of industrial emissions. INCaF presently has a healthy pipeline of projects from Latin America and Asia.
