Small projects in India continue to be the main CER recipients. Total CERs issued for October aggregate to just $5.4 million. This month has also seen a decline in the overall number of projects submitted for prior consideration to the CDM.
Global View
The growth of the CDM pipeline in October was about average with 96 new projects. The amount of CERs issued is now 341 Million CERs, only 7.5 Million CERs were added in October.
The UNEP Risoe CDM/JI Pipeline Analysis have decreased projection of CERs to be available by the end of 2012 from 1212 MCERs to 1168 MCERs. The amount of CERs issued is now 341 Million CERs, only 7.5 Million CERs were added in October.
Leading indicator 1: Projects requesting prior consideration in India
27 projects from India in October requestes for prior consideration which was lower than the YTD monthly average of 51. The global projects submitted for prior consideration also has declined in this month to just 80. So Indian projects continue to be about 34% of the global pool. Most of the projects continue to be small in nature with 5 bundled projects.

A total of 34 CDM projects were registered last quarter with a potential of generating 2.1 million CERs annually. Of these 9 projects (26%) came from India with a potential of generating 319,909 CERs (15% of the amount issued globally).
