Event overview India's solar mission launched in January 2010 has an ambitious target of 20 GWe of installed solar power by 2022. In the first phase, 1 GW of grid-connected solar energy is targeted for 2013 with an approximate 50:50 split between CSP and PV technologies. Earlier this year the first phase of bids took place, resulting in 500MW of projects being awarded to local players. Now with India set to become the cornerstone for reducing overall costs for concentrated solar power the opportunities for local and internal companies are endless.
